  15. What is PPC Clock Speed?

  17. PPC Clock Speed is a simple utility software that let you know the processor/bus clock speed of your Power Macintosh. It is especially useful when you check up the clock speed configuration after you installed new logic boards, processor cards, or clock-chipping parts on your computers.

  22. To use PPC Clock Speed, Power Macintosh computer with System 7.5.2 or better is required.

  25. Installation

  27. To install PPC Clock Speed, drag-copy "PPC Clock Speed Folder" onto your hard disk. It contains two files, "PPC Clock Speed" application and "About PPC Clock Speed" document (you are reading.)

  30. How to use?

  32. Just double-click PPC Clock Speed application to activate.
  33. If successfully activated, it soon shows the following four clock specification data:

  35. ･ CPU type (PowerPC 601, 603, and 604 are currently available.)
  36.  
  37. ･ CPU clock speed (both in frequency (MHz) and in cycle time (ns))
  38.  
  39. ･ Bus clock speed (both in frequency (MHz) and in cycle time (ns))
  40.  
  41. ･ Clock multiplier (CPU clock : bus clock)

  43. PPC Clock Speed also shows notes on the machine type of your computer: PPC Clock Speed checks up the machine ID of your computer ,compares it with all known models ,and shows all corresponding names. If it cannot hit any, It alternatively shows the machine ID.
